Make a note in your diary now to attend YOUR Annual General Meeting and join us on Thursday 7th February at Waltham Forest Town Hall Council Chamber at either the 12-2pm or 4-6pm meetings. Food is provided at the lunchtime meeting.
Our members have suffered pay cuts, a national pay freeze, redundancies, down-gradings and reductions to terms and conditions. This year we need to work together to gain some of our pay back. UNISON is having a major, national pay campaign this year and we need to be ready to do our bit.
So we are asking our members to get active. Start by coming to our AGM where we will show a UNISON film about pay and a guest speaker from UNISON will talk about the pay campaign.
We will also have a guest speaker to talk about local campaigns and we will be doing all the usual business of an Annual General Meeting.
The meeting is open to all UNISON in Waltham Forest members so please do come along. There will be stalls and a buffet lunch as well as the film, the speakers and the meeting itself. It should be an interesting and enjoyable meeting.
We will be asking members to consider taking up various branch positions as we have no Branch Treasurer, Campaigns Officer, Young Members’ rep or Publicity Officer at the moment. If you fancy getting more active in the union why not consider taking up one of these positions.
We also have vacant delegate positions for the Local Government and National Delegate Conferences in June. These are in Liverpool this year and take place from Sunday 16th to Friday 21st June. Paid time off from work plus all your expenses, accommodation and fares are available to our delegates so why not put your name forward and join your fellow members at this year’s conference?
