We achieved a very good turnout for the Workers Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday the 26th April. Trade Unionists, politicians, councillors, Waltham Forest employees and members of the public gathered to remember those who have lost their lives in the course of their work. Purple ribbons were sold on the day and over £200 was collected, which we hope will increase during the week when monies from other council sites are sent to the UNISON office. An update will be posted on the website once we have the final figure.
The chosen charity this year will be the campaign against asbestos in schools.
Remember the Dead, Fight for the living!
Many thanks to H&S Reps, Stewards and other TU members who helped organize this event and sold ribbons on the day.
