fbu logoAs you may know Firefighters have been taking industrial action over the past weeks as the government is proposing to raise their retirement age.

The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) says it would be dangerous to expect large numbers of Firefighters in their late 50’s to fight fires and rescue families. This would put the public and the Firefighters at risk. Continue reading

Colombian state must investigate his murder.  Defend campesinos in Cajamarca who say No to La Colosa Mine!

image001On 4 November, 800 people attended César’s funeral in Cajamarca.  It was raining, but the church was full to overflowing. César was a very valued and respected member of the community. People expressed fear that the situation in the Cajamarca was becoming more unsafe. They feel that it is very important for what is happening in Cajamarca to be visible at an international level.  This is one way that leaders in the area can receive a degree of protection.
