Stan Seymour, UNISON steward in Waltham Forest branch passed away last Tuesday following his long battle with cancer. Stan has always been a supportive member of the branch. When we took strike action he would always picket and join us on the demonstrations. He also took on trade union duties and had been a UNISON representative on the various committees in Environment Services over many years. In his later years in the branch he took on the less than glamorous task of being the trade union representative on the Job Evaluation Appeals Panel. He was thorough in his work and a very supportive man. Stan will be missed by all who knew him and we send his family our deepest sympathy.
Stan’s Funeral will take place on Tuesday 1st September. The service will be at the City of London Crematorium at 1pm. Many of his friends will be meeting up beforehand at the William IV pup at the Bakers Arms from 12 noon, leaving there at 12:30 with the Funeral Party. The Funeral cortège will pass the Leyton Orient Football ground as it heads to the cemetery. After the Funeral Service many of his friends will be returning to the William IV to remember Stan. Doreen, his sister, asked that people wear football shirts wherever possible, or come casually dressed.
