UNISON in Waltham Forest’s banner went along to Whipps Cross Hospital to show solidarity and support for the Junior Doctors at the hospital. Their planned strike was suspended on the eve of the strike when Jeremy Hunt agreed to hold further talks in the New Year. Nevertheless, the BMA wanted to show that they were ready to take strike action should the talks make no progress. They are angry about the proposed imposition of new contracts which we believe will impact negatively on their terms and conditions and worsen the services available to the public who use the NHS.
