There is equipment available that can monitor blood sugar levels without having to constantly test by pricking fingers which causes calusses and eventual numbing of the fingertips. This new monitor costs £1,000 and will cost £3,000 a year to run, so the NHS are not providing it to Type 1 patients at the moment. The Branch Meeting is to be held on Thursday 22nd September in the Waltham Forest Town Hall Council Chamber.
The meeting will start at 12.30pm and finish at 1.30pm with registration from 12 noon onwards. Please note that members are entitled to up to 2 hours agreed paid time off to attend the meeting.
