The Council has put forward proposals to re-locate 3 libraries – Higham Hill, Wood Street and Hale End (Highams Park). This may mean further cuts to jobs, opening times and resources. Many of these buildings are in specialist buildings and have recently been refurbished but because they are in prime locations, they are seen as assets for the redevelopers to move in. The people of Waltham Forest have invested in and loved these buildings over the years and it is your time to support and develop these facilities which are accessible to the whole community.
The council has published a consultation document but the deadline ends on 31.1.17 (Pick up the leaflet from your library or go online at https://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/content/consultation-our-proposals-library-locals)
So make sure that you have your say and in the words of the Higham Hill campaign – Don’t move it – Improve it!
