NHS trust which runs Whipps Cross now has most coronavirus deaths in London

Barts Health NHS Trust, which manages Whipps Cross and four other hospitals, has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus-related deaths in London.

The east London trust has overtaken London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, the previous worst-affected in the capital.

Since the start of the pandemic, the trust has confirmed 589 deaths among people who tested positive for the virus.

The worst day for deaths, according to current figures, was April 8, when 30 people died from the virus.  Click here to read more.
