Learning Reps are required to be trained in their role within six months of taking up the position. They carry out workplace surveys to find out what learning needs and interests their members have. They then identify relevant courses or negotiate with management to provide them.

Learning Reps also support individual members with learning needs such as dyslexia, literacy and numeracy.

Our Reps raise the profile of workplace learning throughout the year by organising events such as Learning at Work day and participating in events such as regional projects and health and safety week.

The role of Learning Rep is fun and very rewarding as you can help members upskill themselves or learn new skills which can help them in their lives both in and outside work and open up new opportunities for many of them.
