Coronavirus: Possible post-lockdown workplace rules revealed......

Reduced hot-desking and alternatives to social distancing where it is not possible are among measures being considered to let workplaces reopen.

Waltham Forest Council is determined to “build its way out of” the recession caused by coronavirus and will soon restart building work.

The coronavirus crisis has sparked a huge increase in people using food banks for essential supplies, charities have warned.

The Trussell Trust said its network had seen its busiest-ever period, with 81 per cent more emergency food parcels being given out in the last two weeks of March.  Click here to read more.

Coronavirus: UK holds minute’s silence for key workers who died......

A minute’s silence has been held across the UK to commemorate the key workers who have died with coronavirus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who returned to work on Monday, joined the tribute at 11:00 BST.

More than 100 NHS and care staff have died with the virus, as have many transport and other key workers.  Click here to read more.

Coronavirus: Care home deaths up as hospital cases fall......

A third of all coronavirus deaths in England and Wales are now happening in care homes, figures show.

Office for National Statistics data showed there were 2,000 coronavirus care home deaths in the week ending 17 April – double the previous week.

Projections for the following week – up to last Friday – suggested the numbers have since continued to rise.  Click here to read more.

Coronavirus: London’s NHS Nightingale ‘treated 51 patients’......

London’s NHS Nightingale hospital treated 51 patients in its first three weeks, sources have told the BBC.

The temporary field hospital was built in east London’s ExCel centre to hold as many as 4,000 Covid-19 patients.

The NHS would not confirm the figures, though the BBC believes 13 people have died at the hospital.  Click here to read more.
