HSE latest provisional figures for fatal injuries in Great Britain show 144 fatally injured between 1st April 2017 and 31st March 2018 which is nine more lives lost in preventable incidents than the year before 2016/17.
Coming a year after the Grenfell fire, and just before the 30th anniversary of the Piper Alpha fire which killed 167 workers, the upward trend is worrying.
