A first case of coronavirus in Waltham Forest has been confirmed.

Yesterday, the council revealed a resident had contracted the Covid-19 virus.

WF Trades Council comment on jailing of employer for worker manslaughter......

Following the jailing of Han Rao for four years for the manslaughter of employee Marian Iancu at The Old Bailey today a spokesperson from Waltham Forest Trades Council said:

“The sentence handed to Mr Rao for the manslaughter of employee Mr Iancu whilst going about his work reflects the seriousness with which the courts can regard this kind of crime, albeit with a relatively short prison term given the nature of the crime. Continue reading

Company boss convicted of manslaughter after employee crushed to death by half a tonne of glass......

A company boss is facing jail after he was convicted of the manslaughter of a Romanian employee who was crushed to death by nearly half a tonne of glass panels.

Forklift driver Marian Iancu, 39, was trapped between 400 kilos of glass and his truck at the TLW (UK) logistics company in at the Rippleside Commercial Estate, in Barking.  Click here to read more.
