All 3 Council unions will be lobbying the last Full Council meeting prior to the summer holidays on 21st July from 6pm. Please make every effort to attend. Fantastic Rally (1 July 2011)......

UNISON, GMB and UNITE members gathered together at lunchtime on Thursday 30 June to protest against Council plans to cut pay by up to 2%, opt out of national collective bargaining, cut sick pay and reduce annual leave, amongst a host of other proposals designed to make Council workers work harder and longer for less. Pay More, Get Less and Receive Later – The Tories Plan For Our Pensions......

The Tory Government is talking about increasing pension contribution rates for public sector schemes, scrapping the Final salary nature of our schemes and replacing them with an Average Earnings Scheme and increasing the retirement age at which we can claim our pension. Single Status Update......

Single Status for APT&C Grades 1-6 is almost completed for council posts.  With schools there are still some posts to be looked at.  At this moment we are arranging focus groups with Site Service Officers/Caretakers.  Nursery Nurses and Admin should be receiving letters very soon.  If anyone would like more info please contact Noreen Ferrari on 0208 496 4502.

As many of you will know there has been no progress on the outstanding single status issues for months. Many staff, including Admin staff and Nursery Nurses, are still waiting for management to notify them of their evaluated grades and whether they will be entitled to any compensation.
