Eight more deaths in east London hospitals and hundreds in the community as national death toll passes Italy’s......

Eight new coronavirus deaths were recorded at Barts Health NHS Trust today, while the trust managing King George Hospital and Queen’s Hospital had none.

In total, since the start of the pandemic, the two trusts covering much of east London have had 778 deaths from the virus in their hospitals.  Click here to read more.

Coronavirus: Tube numbers to be ‘severely restricted’......

A severely reduced number of passengers will be allowed to use the Tube network in order to stick to strict social distancing rules, a leaked Transport for London (TfL) report has warned.

Its message is extremely stark – with social distancing it will only be able to transport tens of thousands of commuters rather than hundreds of thousands.  Click here to read more.

Coronavirus: Sir Keir Starmer calls for ‘national consensus’ on plan......

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has called for a “national consensus” on tackling coronavirus when the UK begins to move out of lockdown.

Ahead of talks with the PM and other opposition leaders this week, Sir Keir set out his priorities for the next phase of the response to the virus.

He is calling for more ambitious targets on testing and new safety standards in the workplace.

Coronavirus: Possible post-lockdown workplace rules revealed......

Reduced hot-desking and alternatives to social distancing where it is not possible are among measures being considered to let workplaces reopen.
