Branch Elections – it’s that time of year again

UNISON in Waltham Forest wants to encourage UNISON members to get involved in all aspects of the branch and now is the time for our annual branch elections – all UNISON members are encouraged  to join in.

Each year all UNISON Branch Officers, shop stewards, health and safety reps and union learning reps stand for election. We hope that all our members will take part in the process. For branch officers we are now entering the nomination period. Any member can nominate a fellow UNISON member for any of the branch officer positions provided they have another UNISON member to second that nomination. The nomination forms can be located on this site by clicking here Nomination Form 2011. The nomination forms contain all the details of nominating for the branch officer and branch delegate positions. If you or any of your UNISON colleagues would be interested in attending conference or representing the branch at Regional level then these nomination forms contain the information on how to be nominated.

All our shop stewards, health and safety reps and union learning reps are also up for election. Click the link here Stewards elections 2011 to see the necessary paperwork and details of how those elections should be carried out. If you are not a rep or steward but would like to stand then you should get a UNISON colleague to nominate you. Please contact the UNISON branch office if you need any advice or support in doing this. If you are an existing rep or steward please use the letters and forms. The branch office is also sending out these forms by email to all those on our activists email list and also by hard copy to all the workplaces covered by our branch.
