Who Said This? (24 August 2011)

“The last thing we want is to see someone lose their livelihood because of intransigent red tape and, in this case, well and truly outdated bureaucracy”

  1. Rupert Murdoch
  2. Margaret Thatcher
  3. Councillor Clyde Loakes

The answer is C. Clyde Loakes (quoted in the Waltham Forest Guardian of 9th June 2011.) Unfortunately he was not talking about Council employees. As we know, Councillor Clyde Loakes and his Council colleagues are cutting posts, putting staff out of work, cutting services and attacking the pay and conditions of low paid Council workers. What he was talking about was the threats to the future of the Log Cabin, a 24 hour takeaway in Whipps Cross Road.
