Town Hall Car Park Changes......
UNISON is opposed to the imposition of the new car parking charge, especially in the light of the recent removal of essential car user allowance and the imposition of a personal car use requirement in the contract of employment. Still Fighting for Equal Pay – Cosmopolitan Joins the Campaign......
Our branch has long campaigned for Equal Pay and we have had some success in Waltham Forest Council. However, the current government has scrapped the proposal to implement equal pay audits and publish the results for all companies employing 250 or more staff. This was originally part of the Equality Act 2010 and could have helped to close the gender pay gap. Continue reading

Council Decide Staff Have to Pay to Park at the Town Hall......
The Council have issued a decree that from 1st June all staff permits that were issued in January for a year will be null and void as they now want staff to pay £10 a year to park at the Town Hall. This will only be offered to staff actually employed at the Town Hall, all other staff who have business at the Town Hall will have to pay the pay and display price or park elsewhere.
