As Workers Memorial Day falls on a Sunday this year UNISON have organised a ceremony at the Town Hall complex at 1pm on Friday 26th April.
We will be selling purple ribbons on the day in your workplaces and outside the main entrance to the Town Hall from 8am. Please contribute, minimum donation £1, to support charities who support the families of those who have been injured or have died at work.
We have a number of speakers who include the Mayor, John Cryer MP, the NUT, Ben McBride from Thompsons solicitors and Mick Holder from Waltham Forest Trades Council.
After the speeches there will be a brief wreath-laying ceremony.
A finger buffet will be provided in the Social Club afterwards
Please make the effort to attend as this is a ceremony to remember our comrades who have been injured or died in their workplaces or have died because of the nature of the work they have undertaken.
If you could sell ribbons in your workplace please let the UNISON office know or contact George Beattie on firstname.lastname@example.org
Many thanks and hope to see you on the 26th.
