Conference – Visitors Opportunity......

Members are invited to visit the Local Government Conference which runs from Sunday 16th to Monday 17th June and the National Delegate Conference which runs from Tuesday 18th to Friday 21st June 2013. It is being held in Liverpool and we have two visitors places available for any member interested in coming. You can choose to come along just for a couple of days if you wish. Hotel accommodation is already booked and paid for. Your fares will be paid by the branch and you will receive a subsistence allowance of £40 for each full day that you attend. Continue reading

Asbestos in Waltham Forest......


Following a complaint by UNISON in Waltham Forest to the Health and Safety Executive about the lack of consultation and the withholding of information regarding asbestos in the Town Hall, Waltham Forest Council were issued an Improvement Notice by the HSE.

This Branch had continually requested information regarding the ongoing situation at the Town Hall. When no consultation or information was forthcoming the branch contacted the HSE and made them aware of the situation. The HSE then carried out a full investigation.

Walthamstow Migrants’ Action Group Event......

Migrants Action Group Launch headingThe launch of Walthamstow Migrants’ Action Group takes place on Saturday 22nd June. The event runs from 6:45 to 8:45pm at Harmony Hall in Truro Road E17, just off the High Street. The attached  flyer has more details but it promises to be a lively and interesting event.
