Colombia’s resources: blessing or curse?

Guardian Debate at the British Museum, Great Russell St, London WC1B 3DG Date: Thursday 13 February 2014

The event will be chaired by broadcaster Jon Snow and introduced by Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum.

The panellists include Cristina Fuentes de la Rocha, founder and Director of Hay Festival Cartagena, Dr Isabel Ruiz, economist at the University of Oxford, Hernando Alvarez, Head BBC Mundo and Dr Oscar Guardiola-Rivera, senior lecturer in Law at Birkbeck, University of London, and author of What if Latin America Ruled the World?

Doors will open at 7pm for a private view of the exhibition Beyond El Dorado: power and gold in ancient Colombia (in Room 35). The debate will get underway at 8pm.
