This event is being organised by a North London Cuba Solidarity Campaign member to support a solar project n a hospital in Gaza. If anyone is interested in gardening, they can buy plants which will help a good cause.
Because of the Israeli blockade, currently Gaza only has 6-8 hours of electricity a day which means that medical services are drastically reduced. A plant sale is being held in aid of Sunshine4Palestine (a registered charity) to raise money towards the installation of photovoltaic solar panels on Jennin Hospital in Gaza. So far, 48 panels have been installed, which allows part of the hospital to function 13 hours a day, but 168 panels are required if the whole hospital is to function 24 hours a day.
Time and location of sale:
Saturday, 31 May 10.30 am – 5.00 pm at Le Rif Cafe, 172 Seven Sisters Rd, N7 7PX (on the corner of Medina Rd. Nearest tube: Finsbury Park)
