Whipps Cross Hospital In Crisis......
As you are probably aware Whipps Cross has massive financial difficulties which threaten its future as a General Hospital. The Waltham Forest Trades Council have called for a protest about the cause of the problem, which is the massive PFI debt that has been brought to Whipps Cross through the amalgamation with Barts. Please have a look at the attached leaflet and join us for a lunch time protest outside the hospital main entrance on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 staring at 12 noon and ending at 2pm. Even if you can only spare a few minutes of your lunch break on the day please do come along and support our local hospital, the health workers and our local community.

UNISON Waltham Forest solidarity with Cuba and Palestine......
Those of you who attended our AGM this year would have had the pleasure of meeting our guests from the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. UNISON nationally supports both campaigns and there may well be members in Waltham Forest who would like to find out more.
The local Cuba Solidarity Group is the North London branch which meets on the last Monday of every month at the Calthorpe Arms pub in Grays Inn Road from about 7pm. The meetings usually consist of a film followed by discussion on all matters relevant to the campaign Continue reading

New Cuba-US talks, but no “normal” relations until blockade ends......
