Keep your guard up. Book your free flu jab today.
Influenza (flu) is a virus that affects the respiratory tract. Vaccination is required annually as the flu strains change over time.
We want to do everything we can to keep our staff safe and well. Having the flu jab protects your and helps keep service users, colleagues, family and friends safe.
Free flu vaccinations are available for staff and with the NHS busier than ever dealing with coronavirus, having the jab can also help reduce demand on the NHS and social care.
Getting your flu vaccination is quick and easy, you can book a slot at a clinic in One Hoe Street or Leyton Sports Ground.
For those who cannot attend a clinic, you can receive the flu vaccination from a Well Pharmacy near you from the autumn (details available later in the year).
We would encourage all staff who are working in the office or live locally to attend a flu clinic rather than a pharmacy. The clinics are dedicated sessions for Waltham Forest staff and will help you receive your jab early in the flu season.
If you have a health condition, are pregnant, a carer, aged 65 or older or in other key groups, you are also eligible to have your free flu jab from your GP or selected additional pharmacies.
