In memoriam, Cllr Chris Robbins CBE 1945 – 2021......

LBWF are devastated to announce the unexpected passing of our dear friend and colleague Cllr Chris Robbins CBE, the Mayor of Waltham Forest, on Monday 5 April 2021. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Chris served the Waltham Forest community since 2002 with dignity, grace, and compassion in his various roles as ward councillor, cabinet member, Leader of the Council 2009 to 2017, and Mayor and was recognised for his service to the community in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2017 with a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire).  Click here to read more.

Settled Status scheme deadline – 30 June 2021......

Changes in the law mean that EU citizens (this includes EEA and Swiss citizens) living and working in the UK need to make sure they have applied for Settled Status before 30 June 2021. Millions have already applied and secured their status, however UNISON is concerned that some may still miss the deadline.
